Board of Directors

North Santa Clara Resource Conservation District (NSCRCD) is governed by a volunteer Board consisting of 5 Directors. Division 9 of the California Public Resources Code provides for the Board of Directors to be elected to their positions, but because of the County of Santa Clara costs associated with biennial elections, the Board of Directors adopted a resolution in 2004 allowing appointment by the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors.

Directors can serve up to 4-year terms, depending on when their appointment occurs and whether they were appointed to fill an unexpired term. Per State law, Directors remain in office until a qualified person is sworn in to replace them. Depending on when the Board of Supervisors approve appointments, Directors may participate in Board action after their term expires.
